hi! im josie.

i was born and raised in the beautiful dominican republic. one of my earliest and fondest memories is me sitting in the hallway outside the kitchen (mom had a child safety fence so i wouldn’t go in) watching my mom cook. and now, this blog is a place where now she can “see” me cook.

i live with my love, the irishman, in a beautiful sunlit apartment in new york city. as you might suspect, he is very happy about this new endeavor since it means he gets to try out all my recipes. my cooking has [obviously] dominican/latin influnce, but i don’t stop there. i like to experiment with different dishes and i am also starting to cook some irish dishes. 

i figured, since i love cooking it was about time i started saving my recipes somewhere safe… you know, like the internet. 

the blue kettle appearing in almost every recipe is called paulie.  he says hi!
