last night i got to go to a food presentation by michael and bryan voltaggio (of top chef fame) at the samsung test kitchen in ridgefield, new jersey.

the even was very laid back and the chefs were incredibly personable and charming (and really cute as you can see). they answered all of our questions and since thanksgiving is right around the corner they cooked a few holiday dishes for us.

part of the demo consisted in showcasing the new samsung flex duo oven, which is a pretty awesome oven.

the food was a real treat. we had gravy:

stuffing:

roasted vegetables:

the vegetables were served with a nice chimichurri sauce and a coffee and cardamon spice mix.

some nice turkey:

served with gravy, stuffing and fried sage:

this was so delicious!!

the brothers were out on the floor chatting with everyone and serving us food.

we also had a roasted pork loin with the most delicious dehydrated fruit chutney i have ever tasted. ever.

and although these look like cinnamon rolls, they were actually brioche rolls with olive paste. so awesome!

for dessert we had a cinnamon coffee cake with bay leaf ice cream

it was amazing. i had never had bay leaf ice cream before but i am sold on it now!

and then, after getting a copy of their cookbook i got to take a picture with bryan and michael (yes, we are on a first name basis-we are cool like that).

but of course we couldn’t just take a “normal” picture…

yes, my parents are super proud of how well adjusted i am, why do you ask?
it was a great way to spend my thursday evening. i got to eat some delicious food and meet great foodies and bloggers.
thank you for stopping by, hasta luego!

ps. i got invited to this event but was not required to write a blog about it. i wrote about it anyway because it was a lot of fun and i thought you might like to read about it.
pps. this sunday is the ing new york city marathon. i have a few friends running it (some for the second time!) and i wanted to give them a shout out. so… ryu, brian and jim, i am so impressed that you can run that much. this is amazing and a wonderful accomplishment. two of you are running for unicef which is so rad! i am so proud of you. but remember… you better not embarrass me, people will be watching so finish the race!! (i know you can! ;) ). i will be cheering on my friends and everyone running on sunday. if you are running, mad props to you, you are awesome! if you are cheering, mad props to you too, you are awesome too!
