vacation in dominican republic; april 2011

hi!! (waves profusely, wondering if there is anyone there) i am back from vacation!!

i must definitely apologize, i have been back for a week and a half now but, i have just been so busy i have not had a chance to update the blog.  my vacation was fantastic! i enjoyed spending time at home.  i went for a week and it was a week where i did i a whole lot of nothing!  i read a lot (‘the unbearable lightness of being’, ‘the lover’s dictionary’) and drank a few presidentes (dominican beer) along the way. 

at the end of the week, the IM came to visit.  my cousin ana got married and he came to partake in the festivities.  we had a bbq on friday night, at my house and the wedding was on saturday in a hotel.  for the bbq, my mom and dad did all of the cooking and i made a cake.  everyone was amazed at all the details and how delicious the food was.  my dad took over the grill and he knocked it out of the park with his churrasco!  my mom made the side dishes.  everything was delicious and barely any left-overs the next day.  this was the IM’ second visit to the dominican republic. my parents, specially my mom, fussed over him so much - making sure everything was great. i even got a little jealous of him, but then i remembered that since i am the translator i am safe. well, at least for now.
